Son una de las culturas más emblemáticas de México, se destacan por la calidad y estilo de su arte. Habitan principalmente en los estados de Jalisco y Nayarit, son cerca de 60,000 personas. El equilibrio es una de sus enseñanzas principales, hacen muchas ceremonias, peregrinaciones y sacrificios para mantener el balance del mundo.

It is one of the most emblematic cultures of Mexico they stand out for the style and quality of their art.They inhabit primarily the states of Jalisco and Nayarit with a population close to 60,000. Equilibrium is one of their principal teachings. They perform ceremonies, sacrifices, pilgrimages to maintain balance in our world.

ESTILO DE VIDA
Los Wixaritari se establecieron en la sierra donde el aire fresco y clima templado predominan, la vista panorámica de montañas llenas de vida te invita a sentarte y contemplar la naturaleza. Las comunidades y rancherías se establecen cerca de ríos y ojos de agua para abastecerse. Las mujeres se levantan antes del amanecer para moler maíz y calentar el comal para hacer el desayuno, no hay algo mejor que salsa y tortillas recién hechas para obtener energía y empezar bien el día. Los hombres se van a trabajar, las mujeres hacen sus tareas domésticas y cuando tienen oportunidad hacen arte al aire libre.

The Wixaritari peoples established themselves in the sierra where fresh air and a temperate Climate predominate. The panoramic mountain vistas filled with life, invite you to pause and contemplate nature. Communities and ranches established themselves near rivers and artesian wells to supply themselves.
The women rise before dawn to grind corn and heat earthenware flat pans to begin breakfast with fresh "Salsa" and warm fresh handmade "tortillas", to energize and begin the work days on a solid note. The men set off to work ,the women begin the daily domestic chores, when the opportunity arises they engage in artistic open air activities.

Principalmente las mujeres son las que usan su vestimenta tradicional diariamente, los hombres por lo generalmente la usan para ceremonias o eventos importantes. Los hombres usan un traje de algodón bordado por alguna mujer, normalmente por su madre o su esposa, se dice que entre más bordado tenga, mas afecto tiene sobre él.

Cada símbolo y color tiene un significado en cada pieza de arte. La cultura Wixárika es de las pocas que sigue manteniendo sus tradiciones, idioma, vestimentas y leyendas de generación en generación por cientos de años. Ellos preservan su cultura plasmando sus símbolos sagrados, los más importantes son: hikuri, maíz, el venado azul y el águila bicéfala.
